How much of your time is spent managing the administrative details of your career?
What if you didn't have to?
Ferguson Jones Provider Advisory manages your complete professional portfolio — credentialing, licensing, payer enrollment, and everything in between — so it's always organized, current, and ready when you need it.
You manage your patients. We manage your career.
Melissa has worked in healthcare since 1991 — thirty-five years, across four major institutions: Mayo Clinic, Duke University Health System, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Prisma Health. Her career has spanned direct patient care, project management, pharmaceutical research, and executive administrative support. Most importantly, she has fifteen years of experience in hospital credentialing — and that experience is exactly why Ferguson Jones matters. Few people in this field have sat in that many different seats — giving her a genuinely unique perspective on how healthcare actually operates, not just how one department or one process sees it.
After a decade and a half spent managing other people's credentialing files, Melissa started this firm to give providers that same level of attention and precision — but working for them, not the hospital. The idea came from a pattern she saw again and again: a malpractice certificate revealing a job never listed on a CV, a claims history disclosing an incident the provider never mentioned, a provider nobody can get in touch with — each one triggering days or weeks of back-and-forth, and in the worst cases, having to restart the application process.
She knows the kinds of questions a credentialing committee will raise that a standard application never asks — and gets ahead of them before they become a delay. That expertise became the foundation for something broader: managing everything else that keeps a provider's professional life running — license renewals, CV updates, CAQH, payer enrollment, and career transitions — not just the credentialing applications that got her here.

Ferguson Jones is hired directly by the provider — not the hospital, practice, or staffing agency. That means your file, your timeline, and your professional interests are our priority.
"Your career. Your advocate. Your administrative partner."
Once you have submitted complete documents, our clock starts:
A complete file moves straight to committee review — no delays waiting on a follow-up request.
Our turnaround times begin once we've received complete, accurate documentation from you — delays in providing information will delay these timelines accordingly. We provide concierge administrative support and complete and submit documents or applications on a provider's behalf only with their written authorization. We do not perform credentialing decisions and are not a source of primary source verification — it is the policy of each hospital, payer, and board to independently verify the documents we provide, directly with the issuing institution.
“The single biggest thing I control is whether that file lands on the medical staff office's desk complete — no missing dates, no unexplained gaps, no conditions sent back asking for more. A clean file the first time is how weeks stop turning into months.”
— Melissa Ferguson Jones

AI is a genuinely useful tool — it can help draft a CV or explain what CAQH is. But there's a real difference between answering a question and actually managing your career.
AI can't log into CAQH, call a medical staff office, or submit your application. You still have to do the work yourself.
AI can only work from what you type into it. It doesn't know that a specific hospital's committee has an unwritten preference, or that a certain payer has an undocumented extra step — that comes from actually having worked inside these systems, not from a search.
A payer enrollment can take 60–120 days with silence in the middle. AI won't notice the silence or follow up on your behalf. A person does.
If guidance is wrong, there's no one to call. We carry professional liability, general liability, and cyber insurance because we're accountable in a way a generic tool structurally can't be.
Research cited by credentialing experts links most hospital medical errors to underlying system failures — and finds that rigorous credentialing meaningfully reduces adverse patient safety events, underscoring why an accurate file matters well beyond paperwork.
MedTrainerA recent state supreme court decision confirms that a hospital can be held directly liable for negligent credentialing — including for a non-employee physician — when it fails to properly investigate a provider's history before granting privileges.

Fifteen years specifically in provider credentialing — most of it at Duke University Health System and Vanderbilt University Medical Center — on top of thirty-five years in healthcare overall, spanning direct patient care, project management, and pharmaceutical research. That range means your file is being handled by someone who has actually reviewed files like yours from the inside, not someone learning the process on your time. We started this firm because we know exactly what a complete, accurate file needs to look like — and we built it to give providers a single, dedicated person watching that on their behalf.
You. Most credentialing companies are hired by hospitals, practices, or staffing agencies — their paying client is the institution, not the provider. Ferguson Jones is hired directly by you, which means our only obligation is to your file, your timeline, and your interests.
No. We prepare and submit your documents and applications, but we are not a provider of primary source verification. It is the policy of each hospital, payer, and licensing board to independently verify the documents we submit, directly with the issuing institution.
Ferguson Jones is the point of contact for follow-up questions, not the provider. That way, when a medical staff office, payer, or licensing board calls or emails with a question, it comes directly to us — not to you in the middle of a patient visit.
You are. We rely on the information and documents you provide us, and you remain responsible for their accuracy and completeness — including work history, malpractice disclosures, and any information you personally attest to. Our job is to organize, track, and submit.
Most providers are fully set up — CAQH profile built and attested — within 2 to 3 weeks of our first call, assuming timely document collection. Actual hospital privileging or payer credentialing then follows their own timeline, typically 60 to 120 days, which is outside our control.
Locums providers and providers with extensive work histories are exactly the kind of files we're built to handle. Telehealth providers, such as those who specialize in teleradiology and teleneurology, often fall into this category, and we have years of experience managing this kind of complexity.
It may add a documentation and translation coordination step, especially if you don't yet hold ECFMG certification. We handle that coordination directly — the primary source verification itself is still conducted independently by each hospital, payer, or ECFMG.
No. We provide non-clinical administrative and application preparation and submission support only. For legal, tax, or medical questions, please consult an appropriate licensed professional.
All professional information is currently maintained through secure electronic file management, with a dedicated client technology platform in development.
We complete and submit documents or applications on your behalf only with your written authorization, signed at onboarding — never without it.
Your file is only accessible to the Ferguson Jones team members directly working on it — never shared or sold to third parties.
We never ask for Social Security, DEA, or license numbers through the public website form — only through a secure channel once you're engaged as a client.
